You won’t believe how gorgeous your mantle can be with these homemade Christmas decorations! Some of them cost pennies to make and we’ve got a free elegant quote you can download to add into the mix. Our mantle is made of things we created through past posts with a couple new items tossed in. We’ll link to each item below. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your handmade decorations, created with love, staring back at you from a beloved spot in your living room. Many will be handed down and become keepsakes. Keep that in mind as you create them.
Homemade Christmas Decorations Used
How To’s can be found for the following items:
New Items Added
These items were added and most literally took minutes to make!
Framed Ornament
I found two old frames, an 11×14 and an 8×10, and painted them bright red. For one I glued on two ribbons and attached two gold ornaments. For the other I printed out the quotation we designed below and framed it.
Snowy Mason Jars
I’d seen these done online and wanted to add a couple to my mantle. They were so easy. All you do is paint on a coat of Mod Podge them and sprinkle on some Epson Salt! I glued on brown string and cut some leaves off of some old artificial greenery I had and added that. Then I added in two battery operated tea lights.
Gold Sticks
Grabbed a few sticks from the back yard and painted them gold!
Snowflakes
Most people know how to make snowflakes from paper . There is a site where you can get patterns for these very beautiful ones. I purchased the entire CD but they have some free ones on this page. You will need some nice detail paper scissors for cutting these snowflakes.
8×10 Printable Quote
Download and print the pdf. Place your 8×10 frame glass centered over the paper text. Trace around it and cut out the quote. Insert it in your frame.
