Wellbeing Tips While on Lockdown

Check out our well-being tips on lockdown.

The lockdown has had an effect on all of us; some of us may be struggling through it, and some worse than others, and some of us may be feeling just fine right now and taking each day as it comes. Either way, this lockdown that’s occurring right now could have a profound effect on your future wellbeing, and knowing about this ahead of time is one of the best ways to prepare both you and your family for any setbacks in the months or years to come.  So, let’s go through some of the potential future effects below; problems to do with them are being reported right now, and it’s good to realize they could come to your door as well.

Be Kind to Yourself

Your mental health might be taking a hit right now, and because of that, you need to be extra kind to yourself.  Make sure you’re not looking back on this period as a transition, or as a time where everything was horrible and absolutely nothing nice happened. We all have little delights in our lives, and it’s important to hold onto them, to ensure something fond and uplifting is always in our memories.

Don’t Overdo It

Once you’re able to get back out there, and get up to your usual tricks, you’ll need to take care not to overdo things. For example, if you usually hit the gym 3 times a week, it might take a few weeks to build up to that kind of resistance again. All in all, make sure you’re not hurting yourself in your pursuit to get back to normal.  Make sure you’re getting enough sleep, and don’t let yourself think you’ve ‘lazed’ around for too long already. Take things slow and steady.

Chill!

You Might Need Better Insurance

Health insurance is something a lot of us have to rely on, and in the months following this period, it might be more crucial to your health and wellbeing than ever before. Of course, health insurance often comes through your employer, but if you’re out of a job currently, you may be worried about your coverage. And that’s why it might be useful to find yourself a new insurer right now, with more options that you might not have needed before.  Who knows just how expensive some treatments might get, or what you might need after a good few weeks of staying indoors and having nothing to do but sit and wait, and maybe even chow down on all the food in the house? If that sounds like a position you’re in, just know that you have options.  For instance, don’t worry about your teeth – dental insurance that covers implants is on the market and available to you, as are many other forms of insurance.  Your well-being in the future is important, and will always be a part of who you are.  Equally important is what you do now. Of course, you won’t have a say in everything that happens with your health, but make sure you’re aware!
