Fun little carry all containers for storing just about anything that will fit! Another wonderful way to upcycle those plastic soda bottles.
Supplies Needed
- Plastic Soda Bottles, straight sides preferred. Aprox. 32 oz size is shown.
- X-acto Knife
- Goo Gone
- Material
- Pull string cord of some type.
- Glue Gun
- Sewing Machine to hem fabric. You could also do it by hand.
Visual Instructions
Remove the labels on all your bottles. After doing so use Goo Gone or something similar to get rid of the residue without marring the surface.
Measure and mark your bottle with a wipe off marker. Make it as tall as you wish.
Measure around the bottle to determine the amount of fabric needed. Cut your fabric into a rectangle leaving about 1/2 inch on the ends for a hem and a little extra on the top and bottom. My larger bottle fabric was about 4 1/2" tall and the smaller bottle was 4" tall. The height of the fabric, like the bottle, is a personal choice.
Make a hem on the top of your fabric for the drawstring. You can also do a small hem the sides if desired though the ones I made I left raw. Make sure your fabric is cut to allow for the hems.
With the fabric inside out hot glue it to the open edge of the bottle. (This is not super strong but it will hold for lighter items.)
Flip the fabric up. The fabric should be cut large enough so that one side overlaps the other a little.
Attach a pin to your draw cord to help you pull it through the hemmed top of your material.
