This simple little no sew drawstring pouches are great for holding tiny treasures! All you need is felt and string and some charms or beads if desired. You can make them any size but we give you a pattern for two sizes using typical 9″x12″ felt. What a great gift! We used ours to hold our Dragon Eyes.  It would also work great for Gratitude Stones!

Supplies for Drawstring Pouch

• 9″x12″ felt in colors of choice
• Heavy string or cord
• Scissors
• X-acto Knife to cut slits (or a hole punch that’s very sharp)
• Large blunt point needle (when threading through slits rather than holes)
• Jewelry findings, beads, bells etc (optional)

Instructions

There are two patterns, one makes a smaller bag and the other uses up the full width of a 9″x12″ piece of felt. You have to tape that pattern together as its too large to print on one piece of paper. The larger size is easier to use in my opinion.

You can either use a hole punch or a sharp X-acto type knife to cut the openings for the string or cord. I found cutting the slits to be much easier. If you do use a hole punch it must be a very sharp one.

TYING: To tie these you want to wrap them around twice. Using the beads or the charms will keep the string from pulling out but they must be placed appropriately. I suggest after threading your cord or string through that you then cinch it up to where there is a nice opening. Then add your charms or beads up close to where the string or cord enters the felt, tying them on with a knot.  Before trimming the excess string off, cinch up your bag all the way and tie it around as explained before. Once you’ve tested it out then you can trim the excess while it is cinched closed.
