Four dollar store Santa hats and some felt that’s all you need to make this darling two sided Santa pillow. It does require a small amount of straight sewing. But I use hot glue for the rest. Feel free to sew it all if you like! You end up with the cutest reversible pillow you’ve ever seen. It only takes minutes to whip one up and they make great neighbor gifts! We even made a special tag poem to print out should you decide to use them that way. Instructions
Gather your basic supplies.
Remove the bottom white bands from your Santa hats.
Hat with white band removed.
Open up one seam on the caps.
Remove the top pom poms.
You should now have two sets of each of these as shown. You will be trimming all four pieces as shown.Cutting off the area as shown above on all pieces so you can sew them into square shapes.
Both sets after cutting of the points.
Take each set and sew a seam along where you just cut.
You now have two square piece, the front and back of your pillow.
Take one of your white brim pieces and iron it out as needed. Fold over the edge that was ripped away and hem it so that it matches the other side that is already hemmed.
Lay out where you will place the white strip across your pillow. I chose to glue mine onto the pillow rather than sew it. Trim the excess off on the ends. Take three of the pom poms that are left over and glue or sew them onto the center of your white band.
For the other side of your pillow you will be making a Santa belt. Measure and cut your black felt.
Using our free pattern cut a belt buckle out of yellow felt.
Glue the belt together.
Mark the center of your pillow.
Glue or sew your belt into your pillow.
This shows the front and back of your pillow.
Place your pillow pieces right side together and sew the edges.
Make sure to leave a few inches for stuffing.
I used a wooden spoon to help poke out the corner. Trim the extra fabric off inside on the corner to help them pop out more.
Stuff your pillow with whatever stuffing you like and sew or glue up the seam.
Completed belt side.
Completed Pom Pom side.
