NOTES: LED Lights are COOL TO THE TOUCH and VERY SAFE. Also, we found some red and green glittery tissue paper at Walmart in the party section.
LED White Twinkle Lights w/green String (Get a GOOD brand that lasts. The ones linked to are not glass and will work great.)
Red & Green Tissue Paper (We used 12 sheets each of 20″ x 20″ (33 sq. feet for each color) and it was just enough to make 50 flowers. Possibly a few more.

Instructions
NOTE ON STORAGE: Tissue paper is very delicate so DO NOT STORE WHERE DAMP. Store them carefully in a box with lots of room.
This is all you need!
I stapled my tissue paper together to help hold it as I was cutting more than one poinsettia leaf at time. FYI don’t cut too many as they tend to slide around. Start cutting out!

For each flower you will need three red and two green leaves.

Get all your items ready in an assembly line.
Layer the flowers as shown, making sure to keep them centered.
Using an awl or something sharp and pointy, poke a hole into the very center of your leaves. Wiggle the awl to make the hole a little larger.
The hole made using the awl.
Carefully push your light through the hole all the way down to the base. This will require a small amount of tearing. Just don’t tear it too much!
The underneath side of your flower.
Fold all your leaves over like a sandwich.
Try to fold them in the other direction, then scrunch them together.
Take a few inches of floral tape and start wrapping the base, squeezing it tightly as you go.
Keep wrapping as you move down.
The tape is very waxy and holds perfectly. If it tears just add more.
Carefully pull out the petals a bit.
