Instructions
Begin by painting the wood board a solid white.
When dry, apply the masking tape at an angle across the board, horizontally.
Using the pink paint, cover one side of the board up to the tape line.
Let dry and remove tape.
Cut the circle pattern out of the FREE DOWNLOAD.
Trace 2 circles onto each of the pieces of colored cardstock. Notice we are only using 7 circles.
Using the hot glue gun, apply a ring of hot glue just inside the traced line.
Continue circling towards the center until the initial ring of hot glue is filled.
Let the hot glue dry thoroughly.
Once dry, cut out the hot glue circles. Cut very close to the glue so that the paper is not visible from the front.
Take the remaining part of the FREE DOWNLOAD and cut out each word individually, leaving approximately a 1/4-1/2 inch of white paper around the letters.
Test out the placement of the words on the board and arrange as needed.
Once satisfied with the layout, remove 1 or 2 words at a time and cover the board in Mod Podge. Be sure to cover the entire board.
Place words back into place and cover with Mod Podge. *Keep in mind that, depending on the printer, this may cause ink to smear on the printout! If smearing is a concern, simply press the words onto the Mod Podge and do not cover them with additional Mod Podge*
Cut seven 6″ sections of craft string, alternating colors.
When the board is dry, arrange the balloons. Make a small dot on the board at the center of where each balloon will be placed.
Lay the craft string pieces onto an easy to clean surface and cover with Mod Podge, twisting the string to ensure all sides are coated.
Place one end of the string on the dot that represents the center of the balloon. Holding in place, work the string into it’s desired shape. Hold until dry.
Once the string is set, cover it generously in Mod Podge to ensure that it stays in place. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Once the strings are dry, heat the glue gun back up!
Place a ball of hot glue onto the back of each balloon.
Place the balloons over the ends of the strings.
Notice that the balloons are not confined to the board. Having them overhang edges adds to the ‘3D art’ look of the plaque.
When complete, hang above the door (or anywhere) for a motivational daily reminder that is sure to send you out into the world with a hop in your step!
