This cute little chickadee is a wonderful Easter gift for any age. He’s simple to make and only costs pennies. Use him as a charm, on a key ring or as a necklace as shown. A plastic Easter egg with some moss is the perfect “wrapping”! We have both Sculpey & Fimo clay but there is a variety of create and bake brands available that work wonderfully. If you like this little guy check out our little sock chicks! He would also be perfect placed in these darling Plastic Soda Bottle DIY Easter Baskets.
Easter Gift Necklace Supplies
- Polymer clay of choice. (Dries in low temp oven.)
- Ball chain (It must be smaller in size to fit through your eye screw.)
- Hardware screw eye bolts (Small enough to easily go into your cork and also fit your chain. )
- Plastic egg and moss for gift wrapping.
Instructions
BAKING CLAY: 275 degree oven for 15 minutes for each 1/4″ of thickness.
You can make these any size you wish.
I chose to put the eyes on with a Sharpie marker. I put one set on before baking and the other sets after. Both worked well.
Do you put the eye-hook in before or after baking the clay creature? Adorable project. Thanks for sharing.
Before. It has to be baked into it. Thanks Samantha!
Thanks!
