This peace dove ornament is not just for the holiday season. (Read the poem below and you’ll understand why.) The dove is a symbol of peace, which we tend to think about quite a bit during the Christmas season. But this little peace dove is meant to be used throughout the year as a reminder to keep peace in our hearts at all times.
Very simple and inexpensive to make, all you need is a foam craft sheet, glue and thread. We’ve included two sizes of printable patterns and of course the poem, also in various sizes. These make wonderful gifts for neighbors and friends. Feel free to use them as tree ornaments also!
Peace Dove Ornament Supplies

Instructions
Using the patterns trace your dove onto a foam sheet.
Attach a silver or gold thread into the wings. NOTE: You can also do this after you attach them which might make it easier to determine placement for balance.
Test the fit of your wings onto the top of the bird. The gap on the wings might need trimmed a little to make it fit perfect.
Place a thin line of hot glue on the top of the bird where the wings will sit.
Quickly place your wings on the glue.
If giving the peace dove as a gift, print and cut out the size of poem you will use.
You can attach a charm or bead at the bottom if desired.
You can also place a gem for the eye.
Eureka! This is exactly what I was hoping for when I started to prepare May lesson on personal peace in a troubled world for our Relief Society sisters!!!!! I like to have a small lesson reminder for the sisters to take home each month. Now to make 60 of them!

How sweet! My daughter asked me just yesterday if we could “make some birds.” I told her I’d have to think about how to do that, but looks like you’ve got it figured out. We’ll be making some this afternoon!
Awesome… Glad to have helped out. Have fun!
