We’re finally at the end of our Budget Bedroom Makeover Series and we’re ready to show you the completed room! It turned out gorgeous and is truly the oasis we envisioned. Our goal was to do this makeover using mostly items we already had and then making other items ourselves with a couple of things from the thrift store tossed in. We hope this inspires you to do your own makeovers and illustrates that they can be done much cheaper than you might think!
Bedroom Makeover Total Cost
Keep in mind we used mostly items that we already had and repainted them if needed which kept our cost way down. For specific details visit each post.
- CANOPY $17.00
- BEDROOM WALLS $11.50
- BEDROOM DECOR ITEMS & CURTAINS $51.19
- CLOTHES HAMPER REDO $8.50
- TWINKLE LIGHT JARS $23.00 (I bought drill bits in this cost)
TOTAL COST $112.00
NOTE: My daughter wanted to contribute to the room and she bought the bedspread you see. She paid $129 for it and it came with shams, mini pillows and a bed ruffle. Had she not done this I would have used a nice black bedspread I already had.
The Photos
This is the gist of what it looked like before.
The after photos.
This is my side of the bed where I snuggle in a night and read my kindle. FYI as I had these black pieces for a few years the paint was off in some places. I used a black marker to cover those spots beautifully! I also placed the black shelf protector on top of the nightstands that you see.

This is gorgeous! I love the black and white color scheme, especially the bird art. I can’t believe you did all that on such a small budget!
I’m hosting a link party over on my blog, and I’d love to have you link this up! http://winsteadwandering.com/alder-collective-link-party-no-2/
Thanks Abby. Yeah the bird art my husband did is one of my favorites in there. Ü
It looks great! I’m a BIG fan of black & white everything, so your bedroom is right up my alley. I have also always dreamed of a canopy bed… so I’m a little jealous right now!

Great makeover! Love how you’ve redone it! And for barely over $100. It makes me want to do a room makeover!
Thanks Courtney. Yeah I was surprised myself at how cheap I got by with!

Wow Nancy
That is one pretty new bedroom 🙂 I really like the birds on the branch, I’ve been thinking of doing something similar in my room.
Love the site and the peacefulness.

Thank you Monique. I’m really happy with it. Feels great to walk in there. That bird art my husband did is a favorite. Not sure why but I love the feel of it. Ü
