This simple hobbit door is so easy to make from colored hardening clay that anyone can do it! Use it for jewelry, bookmarks etc. Makes a great Tolkien gift! This post is part of our Hobbit Day and Tolkien Week celebration! If you like it make sure to check out our DIY Lord of the Rings Art Wood Rack and Lembas Bread Recipe along with a mallorn leaf template to wrap it in.

Instructions
I’m not the least bit artistic. (Not to be confused with creative.) What I mean is I can’t draw, paint or sculpt. My stick figures even kinda suck. So I tend to steer clear of crafts that require someone to have that ability. This is one of those crafts. My point being, if I can do this, anyone can do this.
After you’ve baked your clay you can give your Hobbit door or Gandalf a nice coating with some type of gloss. I used Mod Podge.
These are adorable!! I know several kids and adults that would be thrilled to have some. Discovered it at Nifty Thrifty Sunday – I’d love for you to link this to my Craftastic Monday Link Party @ sewcando.com.
Thank you for breaking down the steps for these. I might actually be able to make them.
Thanks for sharing on the #HomeMattersParty. I hope you will join us again next week.
Too cute!!
I’m dropping by from the French Country Cottage link party. Wow! This is such a cute idea. It would be a hit with those who are Lord of the Rings fans. And it looks so easy to make. That’s my kind of craft.
I have a link party that I’m trying to grow. It is Grandma Ideas Sharing Time at http://grandmaideas.com. I invite you to share this idea (and a couple of others) because I know that my readers will enjoy this idea as much as I do!
My link party runs from Wednesday through Friday night at midnight Mountain Daylight time in the U.S.I know there isn’t much time left but I do hope you can make it. If not, please drop by and share it next week.
All the best,
Nina
Oh my gosh this is too cute! I’m sending this to my younger brother because he’s quite into the Lord of the Rings. Love!
