Looking for a unique anniversary gift idea or a birthday idea? Make a HUGE wall photo collage using numbers! My parents were having their 56th wedding anniversary and that seemed to call for something extra unique. All you need is some cardboard and a lot of photo reprints and some glue! It will be a decor items they will remember for years! Plus they get to keep it.
Unique Anniversary Gift : Supplies Needed
- Large cardboard or foam board sheets. (You can easily find those at the Dollar Store or Walmart)
- Utility Knife
- 4×6 photos of choice, enough to cover your letters. This might take some guesswork. My numbers were about 2 1/2 feet tall and it took 60 photos to cover them. Get extras made to allow for horizontal and vertical laying out to cover the cardboard. One Hour Photo places like Walgreen’s are always running specials!
- Glue Stick or Hot Glue Gun
You can use a large piece of cardboard or foam board for this project.
Trace your numbers onto cardboard or foam board and cut them out.
Lay out of the photos over the numbers first before gluing. Make sure they cover all the cardboard. A mixture of vertical and horizontal photos to do that best. Then glue them on with a glue-stick making sure to use enough glue so they don’t fall off. A hot glue gun would also work as would normal glue.
My parents thoroughly enjoyed looking over the photos. I put them in chronological order.
Going to do this for a 90th BD for my dad. Appreciated your instructions
So glad you found it useful. Have fun!
