So many cool titles came to mind for this post… couldn’t use most of them though. Anyway, assuming you’re still here after you realized what this is made from… pat yourself on the back for being a mature individual! After all, it’s just some plastic and cottony stuff.
Crafts made from tampons ROCK! And they makes the BEST inexpensive essential oil aromatherapy inhaler that you can carry with you or hang around your neck. So wear it proudly and proclaim “I AM WOMAN!”
Supplies
- Small plastic tampon, unscented (I used Tampax Pearl Lights)
- Cotton, if you can’t find unscented tampons.
- Washi Tape
- Tiny cork to fit into top of tampon
- String for necklace
- Drill or something to put a hole in the cork for the necklace
FOR GIFT CARD
- Cardstock
- Hole punch or X-Acto Knife
- Corner paper punch (optional)
- Ribbon, for gift card
Instructions
The photos are self-explanatory. If for some reason you cannot get an unscented tampon, pull out the innards and fill it with cotton! Corks can be found at any Wal-Mart or craft store in packs of various sizes. They’re super cheap. I bought mine on Amazon. I’m unsure the exact size so its best to get a variety pack until you figure it out. Make sure to use the smallest size plastic tampons. The brand shown under supplies is perfect.
USE: Place a few drops of the essential oil of choice into your “inhaler”. Don’t over do it. Keep in mind the bottom of these are open ended. You don’t want anything leaking out. All you need is about 3 drops or so. To use, insert the end of your inhaler into one nostril a tiny bit and inhale! No it’s not weird. Well maybe a little… but who cares! Tampon crafts rock!
Gift Card
This would be a great quirky and memorable gift! Because of this I created a tag with a cute poem that you can give with the necklace. Grab the free download and follow the instructions!
NOTE: You can also cut a small slit to put your ribbon through. If you punch a hole make sure it’s not too close to the edge.
