Your lamps can hold surprise messages when they’re turned on! It’s just a matter of tacking a paper message behind your shade. This can be done using an X-acto knife, dark paper and a little patience, or if you’re lucky enough to have a Silhouette cutting machine, you can use that. I have FREE downloads for BOTH versions.
NOTE: This generally only works well on thin shades as thicker one’s will not allow the message to shine through. Make sure your lamp has a wide berth between the bulb and the shade so there’s no fire hazard.

I decorated a lampshade for a room with a western theme. I downloaded pictures of mustangs in various poses and outlined them on brown construction paper. I cut them out and glued them on the inside of lampshades. They look so good when lamp is on . This was on a floor lamp and was done about ten yrs ago and is as good as the day I did it.
Awesome! I’d have loved to seen that. Ü Thanks for stopping by Kathryn!
Great job implementing our project idea! We love the new phrases you came up with. Isn’t it a fun way to spiff up a lamp?
It was a brilliant idea!
