This cute little pair of chickies can be made in a matter of minutes! All you need is a pair of toddler socks, some ribbon and anything you’d like to use for eyes. Put them in an Easter basket, give them as gifts or even turn into sachets by adding some essential oil into the stuffing before sewing the bottom up! You could also make them in a variety of colors. (Who says chicks have to be yellow?) Below are the super simple instructions.
Supplies
- Pair of toddler socks
- Ribbon
- Felt for beak. (I used pieces of orange ribbon.)
- Choice of items for eyes (felt, googly eyes, gems etc.)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Needle and thread to sew up bottom
- Tiny amount of some sort of stuffing.

Instructions
OPTIONAL: I could only find white socks and I wanted yellow chicks so I put some water in a glass and added a little Rit dye and soaked them for about an hour. Wow! Talk about vibrant yellow!

I made a little nest for my chicks using a plastic bowl I had purchased in a set of three from the dollar store. I put some shredded paper I had inside it to rest my chicks on.

[…] This cute little chickadee is a wonderful Easter gift for any age. He’s simple to make and only costs pennies. Use him as a charm, on a key ring or as a necklace as shown. A plastic Easter egg with some moss is the perfect “wrapping”! We used Sculpey clay for ours but there is a variety of create and bake brands out there that work wonderfully.
