Awesome Tree Decals, Sources & Ideas

Tree decals are a unique way to decorate! So if you're a tree hugger try taking it one step further and bring them into your home and onto your walls.

blank630x20I admit it. I have a love affair with tree decals. If you’re a tree hugger like me you just might consider taking things one step further and bring them into your home and onto your walls! I’ve had tree decals on my wall (and other various places as you’ll see below) for about six years now in four different rental homes.  (You might remember some past posts  concerning some of them.)   When we purchased our recent home I knew it would also be sporting an indoor tree.  It took me over a year to do it because we wanted to re-do the whole living room first. This time we opted for five aspen trees to fit the decor.  Ahhhhh… things finally feel right.blank630x20

blank630x20How to Buy Tree Decals

I’ve bought my trees in various places and had two of them custom made. I’ll share the one’s I specifically used that can be purchased, plus a few other great ones.

Important Tips

  1. Make SURE you get the right size. Many are in Centimeters and the same tree will come in a variety of sizes or colors.  For a typical 6 foot wall remember  182 cm is 6 feet.  (Online cm to feet conversion.)
  2. Different trees will vary in the amount of work required. Some come in one large piece with the leaves separate,  others come in many pieces and have to be cut apart to assemble the tree.

Tree’s I’ve Used

I didn’t necessarily get the trees at the links given.  These are either the exact tree or very similar to tree’s I’ve purchased. Remember to verify sizes for your own needs.

  1. Aspen Trees  ( 8.5 foot tall ) These are in my current living room. I chose not to use the birds.
  2. Brown Linden Tree  (various colors and sizes on this link.) Used from my whimsical living room makeover shown below. This one came in many pieces and was a lot of work to apply.
  3. Leafy Tree The third tree is what I used on my refrigerator shown below.

Other Great Tree Decals

Here are some of my favorite vinyl trees.  Remember to carefully choose the correct size. If the one linked is not the right color or size, do a search for that tree’s name to find other choices.

This was my first tree in 2009. My daughter had a vinyl company and she custom made this tree for me. See more details and photos on  “A Tree in the Living Room”.

Our Current Home Tree Decals

These aspen trees were the easiest tree decals we’ve ever used as there was minimal leaves and the trunks were in one piece with a few separate branches.  You can see the trunk parts here.

Thanks so much for pointing that out. I had neglected to put my link sidebar on that post which is a big deal. Then when I looked your site was not listed on it. I somehow missed adding all this time. Its at the top of the list now. Ü

  2. This is very interesting. What caught my eye is it reminded me of the tree murals that use to be put on one wall so it looked like you are in the woods. I like this better as it is more contemporary and can be tailored to your tastes. Plus it doesn’t look as labor intensive as wall paper. It is especially cute in the child’s room.
