Inspiration Board & Custom Thumbtacks Directions

I had this old large wooden frame that a previous owner had left in our attic. It needed a little gluing. For the bulletin board part you need thick cardboard or a nice piece of foam board. You then cover it with some fabric of your choice and staple it into the frame.

Custom thumbtacks are fun and easy to make! Just grab some steel thumbtacks and glue them onto the back of any tiny objects you like! You can see the specifics about every object I used for mine below!DIY Custom Thumbtacksblank630x20

    Hey Nancy,
I love how your DIYs are not so complicated and presentable! I’m the creativity manager of my classroom and I am supposed to keep the class decorated and in the perfect atmosphere. I plan to use this for my class. Is their any other material I can use instead of a wooden frame? Thank you!

Thanks so much Hera. I’m so glad you enjoy some of my DIY’s. As far as other ideas… you could use a piece of foam board covered in material. Just have to keep in mind when you “pin” things that the hole kinda stays there. But you could do a LOT of pinning before the board wore out!

  3. Love your thumbtack ideas! It’s so much fun creating new & unique thumb tacks! I recently made DIY push pins by cutting those little plastic toy animals in half, painting them and gluing them to thumb tacks:

Thanks Sonja. I’m actually releasing a post in the next month or so on my full craft room as I just redid it. Its very tiny and crammed in with my washer and dryer but I used what I had to make the most of the space! Thanks so much for stopping by and for commenting. Ü
